Michael Hutchinson, MD, PhD

 

  

Dr. Hutchinson received his medical degree from the PhD-to-MD program at the University of Miami in 1988. He was Resident in Neurology at the University of Washington, during which he did a sabbatical as Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London. This was in the firm of Professor Ian McDonald, a pioneer in the diagnosis and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Hutchinson then did a two year fellowship in Neuroimaging at the University of California, Los Angeles, with research into functional MRI and PET studies of movement disorders.

In 1994 he came to New York as Assistant Professor of Neurology, New York University School of Medicine, and is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.

Dr. Hutchinson is Board Certified in both Neurology and UCNS Certified in Neuroimaging. He invented Parallel MRI in 1987. He holds a PhD in Molecular Physics, and has published over 60 papers and book chapters.
