Q: What are your professional interests? 
A: Behavioral Neurology, Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuroimaging

Q: Do you have children?
A: Three children. My youngest daughter breeds degu's (a rodent native to South America).

Q: What is your favorite thing about your career?
A: The variety of the type of work I do and people that I meet.

Q: Share a personal fact no one would ever guess about you.  
A: I spent most of my childhood living in South East Asia.

A: Be true to yourself


Dr. John Bertelson is a graduate of Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from Rice University.  He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  He completed a residency in Neurology at the Mayo Clinic, a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and a fellowship in Neuroimaging at the Dent Neurologic Institute.  Dr. Bertelson is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UT Austin Dell Medical School and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas-Austin.  He is UCNS certified in Neuroimaging and Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry.  Dr. Bertelson maintains a busy clinical practice in Austin, TX and is actively engaged in resident and medical student education.
