Dr. Anne Alexandrov has built her career at the forefront of acute stroke care, neurocritical care, and advanced neuroimaging education, shaping national standards and transforming how clinicians diagnose and treat cerebrovascular disease.


A globally recognized nurse scientist and acute care nurse practitioner, Dr. Alexandrov has led pioneering work in  stroke systems of care, neurocritical care practice, and neuroimaging education. Her leadership has influenced protocols used across major health systems, and her research has advanced the integration of imaging into rapid stroke assessment and treatment pathways.


Dr. Alexandrov’s career reflects a rare blend of clinical expertise, scientific rigor, and program‑building vision. She has developed nationally adopted training programs, led multicenter research initiatives, and mentored generations of clinicians in stroke nursing, advanced practice neurology, and neuroimaging interpretation. Her work has strengthened the workforce pipeline for stroke and neurocritical care while elevating the role of advanced practice providers in high‑acuity neurologic care.


A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), Dr. Alexandrov has held leadership roles across multiple professional organizations and continues to serve as a trusted voice in shaping policy, certification standards, and evidence‑based practice in stroke and neurocritical care.


Throughout her career, she has championed initiatives that improve patient outcomes, expand access to high‑quality neurologic care, and ensure that clinicians at every level have the training and tools needed to deliver timely, expert stroke treatment.
