Dr. Ryan Hakimi has built his career at the intersection of neuroimaging, neurocritical care, and system‑level leadership.
As Director of the Neurology Service Line, System Stroke Medical Director, and Director of TCD Services at Self Regional Health System, he leads programs that strengthen stroke care, expand neurodiagnostic capabilities, and elevate the standard of neurologic services across the region.
His path reflects a deep commitment to advancing the field of neuroimaging. A board‑certified neurologist and neurointensivist with additional credentials in neurovascular and neurophysiologic diagnostics, Dr. Hakimi has become a trusted voice in shaping national standards. He currently serves as President of the American Society of Neuroimaging and is a Fellow of the ASN, where he also Co‑Chairs the ASN Certification Committee. His leadership extends across multiple professional organizations, including the IAC Vascular Testing Board of Directors, the Neurocritical Care Society Board of Directors, and the American Academy of Neurology’s Neuroimaging Section, where he serves as Vice Chair.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hakimi has championed initiatives that improve patient outcomes, strengthen clinical pathways, and support the next generation of neuroimaging professionals. His work reflects a blend of clinical expertise, operational insight, and a passion for advancing the science and practice of neurologic care.
