A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, Dr. Chawluk received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his neurology residency and post-residency fellowship in stroke and neuroimaging at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Chawluk directs a very busy general neurological practice in Pottsville, Pa. He has served as medical director of Schuylkill Medical Imaging (formerly Schuylkill Open MRI) since its opening in 2003. He holds a clinical associate professorship in neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa.
He has participated in numerous clinical trials as an investigator, and has lectured at a number of national and international conferences. He is a former president of the American Society of Neuroimaging, and former chair of the neuroimaging section of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Chawluk is the author or co-author of over 80 articles, reviews, book chapters, and abstracts on a variety of neurological topics. He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Neuroimaging since its original issue was published in 1990.
