2026 Annual Meeting Call For Abstracts

The American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN) is excited to welcome abstracts on The Intersection of Disease Modifying Therapy and Neuroimaging for presentation at the 2026 Annual Meeting in Puerto Rico, January 16 - 18, 2026.

Topic Areas Include:

  • Neuroimaging Technology (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional
  • Neurology/Neuroendovascular Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, and other imaging modalities)
  • Clinical Neuroimaging (case reports, case series, surveys, etc. demonstrating the utilization of neuroimaging in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients)
  • Precision Diagnostics and Biomarkers (quantitative imaging, new serum tests, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microbiomics, etc.)
  • Neuroinformatics (clinical decision support, clinical trial support, natural language processing, artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning)
  • Virtual Practice and Digital Medicine (Remote patient monitoring, telemedicine)
  • Other practice automation and business concepts (Workflow efficiency such as scribes and related technology, ancillary service business models and tools)

The best abstracts will be recognized through a variety of prestigious awards. Accepted imaging lectures will be eligible for publication in the Journal of Neuroimaging.

ASN ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Authors need not be members of ASN nor sponsored by a member to submit an abstract. Acceptance will be based entirely upon quality.
  • Abstracts must report work not presented or published prior to the meeting.
  • Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by mid-November 2025.
  • If your abstract is accepted, poster presenters must be an member of ASN in good standing and register for the full annual meeting.
  • Abstracts will be published in the Journal of Neuroimaging, the official journal of the ASN.
  • Presenters whose abstracts are accepted but do not attend the meeting will not have their research published in the Journal of Neuroimaging.
  • If you would like to be considered for the ASN or ASN Education Foundation awards, descriptions of the awards and enrollment opportunities are online. Please do not apply for an award if your abstract does not fall into the award criteria.
  • Abstracts are limited to 250 words.
  • If you are submitting more than one abstract, you can use the same email address and password for each abstract.
  • Place any special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears, then use the abbreviation throughout the remainder of the abstract.
  • Add codes for any special formatting or symbols or spell out any Greek characters.
  • Abstracts must be divided into the following sections:
    • Background and Purpose (description of the rationale for the study)
    • Methods (for case reports this will be a brief description of the clinical presentation)
    • Results
    • Conclusions (discussion of data interpretation and scientific conclusions) of the work
    • References should not be cited and do not need to be listed.


ONLINE SUBMISSION NOTES

  • You must sign up for an account within the Oxford Abstracts system.
  • Your abstract is not considered submitted until you hit the “Submit” button. Once your abstract is submitted you are no longer able to make changes. Abstracts that are “Complete” but not “Submitted” will not be reviewed by the Program Committee.


AMENDING AN ABSTRACT

  • If your abstract is “Complete” but not “Submitted” you will be able to login to the Oxford Abstracts system and make changes. If you have already submitted your abstract and need to make changes, please contact Andrea Powell at andrea@asnweb.org. Abstract changes will not be allowed after October 15, 2025.
  • If you want to withdraw an abstract, please contact Andrea Powell at andrea@asnweb.org.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the deadline for abstract submissions?
The deadline for abstract submissions is October 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. of the submitting author’s
current time zone.

Does ASN grant extensions for abstract submissions?
Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis, decided by the Program Chair.

Is there a word limit on abstract titles?
Yes, there is a 15-word limit for abstract titles.

How should abstract titles be submitted?
Abstract titles should be in title case.

Is there a word limit for the body of the abstract?
Yes, abstracts are limited to a 250 combined word count.

Does the first author need to be the presenting author?
The submission site allows you to select which author will be presenting the poster. However, for award winners, the presenting author must be the submitting student, resident, or fellow and cannot be an attending physician.

Is there a fee to submit an abstract?
No, however the presenting author will need to be registered for the Annual Meeting.

Do authors need to be members of ASN?
No, however, we encourage presenters to join ASN and take advantage of reduced registration fees
and other member benefits.

What size are the posters that are presented at the ASN Annual Meeting?
Poster board size for the meeting can be a maximum of 4 feet tall by 8 feet wide.

Will all accepted abstracts be published in the Journal of Neuroimaging?
Only abstracts that are accepted into the program AND presented at the Annual Meeting will be published in the Journal of Neuroimaging.
